The Order of Volume [I], installation view at LhGWR gallery, The Hague, 2011

The mural suggests a shrine-like setting. On what seems to be an alcove in the wall, an animationloop is projected on a surface of black, reflective paint. The film shows in the foreground a table in a space with doors in the background. Through the doors the camera moves forward through strange spaces and portals.

Every once in a while this loop is interrupted by the image of a flying eagle, or a rotating pitcher.

The work has some links with the practice of alchemy, and uses architectural space as an analogy for mental space.
